This morning in Life Skills, we watched Sam and His Pet Temper and had some fantastic discussions about the different ways Sam could regulate his temper, make positive choices, and reflect on how his actions linked to our PCA Way. Afterwards, pupils took part in a carousel of engaging activities. One group explored different emotions, practising facial expressions using mirrors before recreating them with play doh. Another group enjoyed mindful doodling, carefully choosing colours to match their emotions with support from the emotions wheel, before discussing strategies to help them stay in, or return to, the green zone of regulation and why these skills are so important for adulthood. Finally, pupils designed their own personalised plates for the treats we will enjoy during the last week of term, creating designs that represented who they are. What a fun, creative, and meaningful way to learn important life skills!
